Middle East tensions: Iran and Saudi Arabia hold talks as Netanyahu visits Mount Hermon

Iran and Saudi Arabia held discussions regarding the escalation of tensions and increasing insecurity in the region. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, to emphasize the need for continued diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation and restore regional stability. The Iranian Foreign Ministry noted that the crisis in Yemen cannot be resolved through continued military intervention.

In a separate development, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Mount Hermon in Syria. Speaking from the location, Netanyahu stated that Israel maintains absolute control over the area from Mount Hermon to the Yarmouk River and the Mediterranean Sea. He asserted that Israel will not allow a ‘terrorist army’ to establish itself on its borders and claimed that Iran is close to defeat, suggesting the eventual collapse of its regional axis.
