Middle East and North Africa face severe weather and El Niño impacts

Multiple regions across the Middle East and North Africa are facing significant weather fluctuations. In Saudi Arabia, the Civil Defense has issued warnings regarding heavy thunderstorms that could trigger flash floods, hail, and dust storms. The National Center for Meteorology expects moderate to heavy rainfall in regions including Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah, with potential visibility reductions due to dust and fog.

In Morocco, meteorological services forecast thunderstorms, snow on the High Atlas peaks, and a drop in temperatures across several regions, including Beni Mellal-Khenifra. Authorities have advised caution in mountainous areas prone to water accumulation.

Meanwhile, Oman is preparing for warmer and wetter conditions driven by an intensifying El Niño pattern. The Civil Aviation Authority reports that northern Oman is likely to see above-average rainfall through November, while temperatures are expected to remain higher than seasonal averages through December.
