Middle Eastern universities expand professional training partnerships
Universities across the Middle East are expanding partnerships to enhance student employability and align academic curricula with labor market demands.
In Bahrain, the University of Kingdom is integrating professional certifications into its programs. Students in the College of Business Administration receive Level 5 or Level 7 certificates in Leadership and Management from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). The university also collaborates with AWS Academy, Cisco Networking Academy, and IBM to provide specialized technical credentials.
In Saudi Arabia, Umm Al-Qura University has strengthened its partnership with the Human Resources Development Fund through the ‘Maharat’ initiative. This program offers training in general and specialized professional skills across sectors such as management, IT, engineering, and healthcare to bridge the gap between academic learning and job requirements.
In Egypt, Benha National University signed a cooperation agreement with the Wadhwani Foundation – Egypt. The partnership aims to develop the professional and personal skills of students and graduates, exploring ways to integrate employability training directly into academic pathways.
