Middle Tennessee defeats Florida International 26-23

Middle Tennessee State University defeated Florida International University 26-23 on Tuesday night. Terrence Brown led the Blue Raiders with 158 rushing yards and a touchdown, averaging 8.8 yards on 18 carries. Dominic Bourgeois contributed significantly with four field goals, including kicks of 51, 39, 50, and 28 yards.

After trailing 8-7 in the first quarter, Middle Tennessee took a 13-8 halftime lead. FIU tied the game at 16 in the third quarter following a touchdown pass from JJ Kohl to Kevin Schaeffer and a two-point conversion by Devonte Lyons. Brown regained the lead for Middle Tennessee with a 54-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter. Despite a late 21-yard touchdown pass from Kohl to Sterling Joseph that brought FIU within three points, Middle Tennessee secured the victory by controlling the clock during a final 11-play drive.

Middle Tennessee moves to a 4-3 record (2-1 in Conference USA), while FIU falls to 3-3 (1-1 in Conference USA).
