Middlesbrough dog attack injures child and three adults

A suspected Malinois dog attacked a four‑year‑old child and three adults on Sunday afternoon at Marshall Avenue, Brambles Farm in Middlesbrough. The victims were taken to hospital with injuries that were not life‑threatening.

Police arrested a 15‑year‑old boy, a 34‑year‑old man and a 36‑year‑old woman on suspicion of being in charge of the dangerously out‑of‑control dog. The animal was seized as part of the investigation.

Officials noted the Malinois breed is not generally classified as dangerous but has been linked to a gene variant associated with sudden aggression. A previous Malinois attack in Coventry this year resulted in a fatality. Police are appealing for any witnesses or footage of the incident.
