Middlesbrough near loan deal for Everton goalkeeper Mark Travers

Middlesbrough, a Championship club, is in advanced negotiations to take Everton's 27‑year‑old Irish goalkeeper Mark Travers on loan. The club sees the striker‑proved custodian as a vital addition to strengthen its defence in the push for promotion. Travers, who joined Everton in 2025 from Bournemouth for around €4.6 million, has made only two first‑team appearances, both in the League Cup, as Jordan Pickford retains the starting spot.

Everton is prepared to facilitate the move, with reports indicating a loan fee near €3 million and a potential permanent‑transfer clause of about £4 million. The deal, if concluded before the transfer‑window deadline, would give Travers regular playing time and free Everton to pursue other goalkeeping options.
