Midea and Hisense launch AI-driven smart air conditioners
Major Chinese appliance manufacturers Midea and Hisense have launched new smart air conditioning products featuring advanced human-sensing technologies designed to prevent direct cold air blowing.
Midea has released the Xingrui FW1 floor-standing unit, which utilizes millimeter-wave radar 3.0 and AI to detect family members' positions. The system allows for modes such as “wind avoiding people” and “wind following people,” aiming to provide customized comfort for multi-generational households. The unit features over 14,000 micro-holes to disperse airflow and maintains humidity levels between 40% and 60%.
Hisense has introduced the Smart Wind E5L, a 1.5-horsepower wall-mounted unit optimized for bedrooms. It employs “Star Flash Human Sensing 2.0” technology, which uses echo-location simulation to track movement and adjust airflow accordingly. The model features a piano-style sliding cover for aesthetic integration and operates at noise levels as low as 15 decibels. It also includes AI-driven energy-saving modes and self-cleaning functions.
