Midea announces new home care and cooling technologies at IFA 2026

At IFA 2026, Midea announced several new home care and climate control technologies. The company introduced a “Zoned Care. Omni Clean.” vision, featuring the Omni Trio multi-drum washing machine. This appliance utilizes three independent washing drums with separate water flow systems to allow different types of textiles to be washed simultaneously within a standard 850 mm height. Additionally, the company showcased the AT8 Ultra wet-and-dry vacuum and floor cleaner.

Midea also revealed plans for a new generation of its PortaSplit mobile split air conditioning unit, scheduled for a 2027 release. To comply with EU F-gas regulations, the new model will transition from R32 refrigerant to the more environmentally friendly R290 (propane). The update aims to resolve previous user issues regarding condensate drainage and filter clogging by introducing a removable indoor filter and a high-pressure drainage base plate for the outdoor unit. The upcoming model will also feature native Matter 1.6 support for improved local smart home integration.
