MIDEA Introduces NFC-Enabled Smart Clips for Food Tracking in Refrigerators

MIDEA unveiled a new smart‑kitchen system at IFA, featuring the INSTA‑FIT MASTER refrigerator line equipped with AI PREPMASTER software and NFC‑enabled AI Food Clips. Users can assign each clip to a food item via an app, selecting category, storage location and recommended duration; the system signals approaching expiration with a red light on the clip rack. The company says the integrated clip system, the first of its kind from an appliance maker, will be available in 2026.

Separately, a range of aftermarket smart screens for fridges has been reviewed, offering calendar, shopping‑list and meal‑plan integration with services such as Google, iCloud and Outlook, as well as voice control and magnetic or bracket mounting options. These devices aim to simplify kitchen organization and chores.
