Midea PortaSplit air conditioner sees high demand and stock shortages
The Midea PortaSplit, a mobile split-system air conditioner released in 2024, has seen significant consumer demand due to its efficiency and ease of installation. Unlike traditional split systems that require permanent structural changes, this model is designed for easy setup, making it particularly attractive for renters. It offers A++ cooling efficiency and quieter operation compared to standard mobile monoblock units.
Installation can be adapted to various window types, balconies, or windowsills. For windowsill mounting, the unit requires a flat surface at least 30 centimeters deep and includes safety features such as a steel cable to prevent falls.
Due to its popularity, the device frequently sells out in retail stores. While the manufacturer has indicated that new stock is on the way, high demand has led some retailers to charge prices above the suggested retail price of 1,199 euros.
