Midea unveils sustainable HVAC and smart cooling innovations at IFA 2026

At IFA 2026, Midea showcased its latest sustainable HVAC and energy management solutions, emphasizing its commitment to eco-friendly technology. A central focus was the company's use of R290 natural refrigerant. Midea has utilized R290 for 16 consecutive years, reporting that since 2018, it has sold over 10 million R290 air conditioning units, contributing to a reduction of approximately 5.2 million tons of CO2 equivalent.

New product highlights include the H-Pack, an indoor heat pump developed by Midea's European R&D team. The compact system is designed for indoor use only, eliminating the need for an outdoor unit and addressing issues related to noise and installation space.

Midea also introduced the VitaBreeze system, which is scheduled for a Europe-wide launch in early 2027. The system features 'AirGrid Intelligence' and 'Breezeless Pro Evolution' technology, designed to use person detection and micro-perforations to distribute airflow intelligently and avoid uncomfortable drafts.
