Midea PortaSplit split AC now available for pre‑order amid severe stock shortage
Demand for the Midea PortaSplit split‑type air conditioner has surged across Germany, leaving retail shelves empty. The 12,000 BTU, 4‑in‑1 model that can also heat was almost unavailable during the summer heat wave.
Midea has opened a pre‑order through the Joybuy platform until 10 August, pricing the unit at €1,199 without markup. The window‑mounted system avoids permanent installation, offers silent operation and an A++ energy rating, but weighs 45.5 kg and requires a suitable window opening.
To help shoppers locate the scarce units, the manufacturer launched an interactive availability map. On 29 July the map showed only three of 1,228 tracked retailers still had stock, prompting customers to check the map for real‑time updates.
