Midfielder Samu Costa joins Saudi club Al-Nassr from Mallorca

Spanish midfielder Samu Costa is set to move from RCD Mallorca to Saudi Arabian side Al‑Nassr for a reported fee of about €22 million, the largest transfer in Mallorca’s history. The 25‑year‑old, who made 108 appearances for Mallorca with eight goals and five assists, helped the club avoid relegation last season and featured briefly for Portugal at the 2026 World Cup.

Al‑Nassr, owned by Cristiano Ronaldo, has been warned that Costa should not take part in training or pre‑season matches until the transfer is formally completed. The player was photographed at Mallorca airport heading to Saudi Arabia for a medical, but the deal has not yet been officially announced. The move follows Mallorca’s recent relegation to the Segunda División and represents a net gain of roughly €18 million for the Spanish club after previous sales.

Costa expressed enthusiasm about joining Al‑Nassr, citing the club’s project and work environment. Al‑Nassr is preparing for the upcoming Saudi Pro League season after a mixed pre‑season campaign in Portugal.
