Midgar Studio ordered into liquidation following Nacon insolvency

A French court has ordered the liquidation of Midgar Studio, a developer known for the RPG Edge of Eternity. The studio, which was acquired by Nacon in 2022, is facing closure due to the insolvency proceedings of its parent company, Nacon.

Despite the studio's closure, there is some clarity regarding its upcoming title, Edge of Memories. While the studio's founder, Jérémy Zeler-Maury, expressed disappointment that no buyer was found to maintain the team, statements indicate that the creative work for the game is complete. The remaining tasks are described as technical, involving bug fixes and fine-tuning for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

A dedicated team is reportedly working to ensure the game reaches its planned release in the fourth quarter of 2026, though the official status of the project remains subject to the broader insolvency situation of Nacon.
