Midnight Dynamite primed for Group 2 Missile Stakes

Five‑year‑old gelding Midnight Dynamite is being positioned as a leading contender for the Group 2 Missile Stakes (1200 m) at Randwick. Trainer Bjorn Baker kept the horse in work rather than stretching him to a mile in the Coffs Harbour Cup, opting to freshen him for the sprint. Racing manager Luke Hilton said the horse is “in great order” and that his fitness and gate advantage should allow him to settle well and stay ahead of the higher‑rated sprinters Angel Capital and Napoleonic.

Midnight Dynamite arrives with Listed victories in the Civic Stakes (1400 m) and the Winter Challenge (1500 m) and a black‑type placing in between, and he is unbeaten over 1200 m at Randwick. The horse, purchased by syndicators Darby Racing, leads a stable of five runners that also includes Amazing Eagle and Stardeel. Hilton added that the gelding is “in a great frame of mind” after a recent win and that his recent work has been “as sharp as I’ve seen him this preparation.”
