Midwest collegiate women's soccer season begins

Collegiate women's soccer teams in the Midwest have begun their regular season campaigns.

Illinois Wesleyan University is set to open its season with two road matches, starting at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. The Titans enter the season following a 9-7-3 campaign in 2025. Key returning players include Liza Wiley and Ava Mapes, alongside captains Sophia Lampert and Ellen Dahlquist. The roster has been bolstered by ten freshmen and four transfers.

In another season opener, Hamline University defeated Coe College 1-0. After remaining scoreless for 88 minutes, Hamline secured the victory via a late penalty kick following a challenge in the attacking box. Coe College recorded three shots on target during the match but was unable to equalize.
