Midyat court accepts indictment in death of Bedriye Naz

An indictment has been accepted by the Midyat Heavy Penal Court regarding the death of 27-year-old Bedriye Naz, who fell from the fifth floor of an apartment in the Midyat district of Mardin on August 11.

According to the investigation, Naz's husband, 31-year-old Levent Naz, was detained following allegations of a dispute prior to the incident. Security footage reportedly shows him leaving the home and purchasing a knife from a market shortly after the event. Witnesses, including neighbors, provided statements alleging that the victim had cried out for help and that the husband had claimed to have thrown her from the building.

Testimonies in the indictment suggest a pattern of jealousy and pressure exerted by the husband, including restricting the victim's ability to leave the house. Levent Naz has been arrested and remains in custody as the legal process continues.
