A 64-year-old German tourist has died after drowning in the Baltic Sea at a beach in Międzyzdroje, Poland. The incident occurred on Friday, September 4, near entrance J on the western part of the beach.

Reports indicate that the woman got into trouble due to strong winds and high waves. Despite a large-scale rescue operation involving WOPR lifeguards, firefighters from the State Fire Service (PSP) and Volunteer Fire Department (OSP), and multiple medical teams, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.

Polish police have launched an investigation into the exact circumstances of the accident. Authorities have issued warnings to beachgoers to avoid swimming during unfavorable weather conditions.
