Międzyzdroje to host Golden Sand 2026 athletics meeting

The Golden Sand Międzyzdroje 2026 athletics meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Aleja Gwiazd in Międzyzdroje, Poland. The event features an international men's pole vault competition held in memory of Tadeusz Ślusarski, alongside the traditional Władysław Komar Stars and Friends shot put competition.

The pole vault event will include 11 international athletes, headlined by Filipino pole vaulter Ernest John Obiena. Other notable competitors include Robin Emig of France, Cole Walsh and Hunter Gerretson from the USA, and Seifeldin Abdelsalam of Qatar. Polish participants include Bartosz Marciniewicz, Filip Kempski, and Paweł Pośpiech.

The outdoor meeting is set to begin at 14:30, with free admission for the public. The event continues a tradition established in 1999 to honor Olympic champions and friends of the sport.
