Mielec authorities initiate protection for Henryk Burzca's artworks

Authorities in Mielec have responded to an inquiry regarding the protection of the city's artistic heritage. The municipal office announced that it has initiated procedures to include Henryk Burzca's famous mosaic in the register of monuments. Additionally, officials expressed support for the idea of establishing a new art award named after the artist.

City Councilor Zdzisław Nowakowski raised the issue, highlighting several works by Burzca that require immediate care, including outdoor sculptures such as ‘Miotacz’, ‘Biegaczki’, ‘Lot’, ‘Radość życia’, and ‘Tancerka’. The debate also covers other local works, such as a wooden sculpture of Jan Sebastian Bach and the ‘Dedal i Ikar’ monument by Kazimierz Mędrzyński, which has been visually obscured by photovoltaic installations.
