Mielec County Councilor Proposes Increased Rail Connections

Mikołaj Skrzypiec, a councilor for Mielec County, has called for local municipalities to unite in demanding expanded rail services. He argues that the current railway offerings do not meet the needs of residents.

Skrzypiec has proposed that the county and its municipalities jointly appeal to the Podkarpackie Voivodeship Board to increase the number of REGIO trains on the Dębica - Mielec - Tarnobrzeg route, including connections to Rzeszów. He also seeks improved rail communication with Stalowa Wola.

The proposal specifies a need for at least eight pairs of trains on weekdays and at least five pairs on weekends and holidays for the Rzeszów-Mielec-Tarnobrzeg section. Additionally, the councilor emphasized the importance of scheduling trains throughout the day—from early morning to evening—to accommodate work and school schedules, as well as ensuring connections with long-distance trains in Dębica, Tarnobrzeg, and Stalowa Wola.
