Miercurea-Ciuc workers discover World War II projectile

Workers in Miercurea-Ciuc discovered a 100 mm caliber armor-piercing tracer projectile on the grounds of a local business. The object is believed to date back to World War II.

Pyrotechnicians from the Harghita Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU Harghita) responded to the scene to secure and remove the ammunition. The projectile has been transported to a safe location and is scheduled for destruction. Authorities have advised the public not to touch, move, or attempt to dismantle any suspicious metallic objects that resemble unexploded ordnance.
