Mighty Wanderers move to top of FDH Bank Premiership

Mighty Wanderers moved to the top of the FDH Bank Premiership table following a 1-0 victory over Silver Strikers at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe. Striker Clement Nyondo scored the decisive goal in the 32nd minute, dribbling past defenders and rounding goalkeeper George Chikooka to secure the win.

The victory ends a four-match losing streak for the Blantyre-based side and brings their total to 32 points. This result places them one point ahead of second-placed Standard Bank Blue Eagles, who sit on 31 points, while FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Strikers follow in third and fourth place respectively, both with 29 points.

Earlier in the match, Nyondo had a goal disallowed for offside in the 17th minute. Silver Strikers attempted to equalize but were unable to break through the Wanderers' defense, which was bolstered by a key save from Dalitso Khungwa to deny an Andrew Joseph header.
