Migración Colombia sets deadline for 150,000 Venezuelan protection permits

Migración Colombia has issued a 60-day deadline for Venezuelan citizens to collect more than 150,000 approved Temporary Protection Permits (PPT). The deadline for retrieval is November 4.

If the documents are not claimed within this timeframe, the authority will destroy them, and the associated regularization process will be considered abandoned. The PPT is a critical document for Venezuelan migrants in Colombia, enabling legal residency, employment, access to the healthcare system, banking, and education.

Beneficiaries are urged to check the status of their documents through official Migración Colombia channels. Those with available permits must visit their assigned Migratory Service Facilitation Center, presenting a passport or foreign identity card.

For those without pending PPTs, other regularization options remain available, such as the PEP Tutor for legal guardians of minors and the V Visa for special visitors who entered Colombia before December 4, 2024.
