Migrant boat landing prompts police action in Algeciras, Spain

A small boat carrying between 15 and 20 migrants arrived off the coast of Algeciras, Spain, near the Punta Carnero area. Police forces, including the National Police and local authorities, detained four migrants of Maghreb origin who had landed earlier at Cala Secreta. The remaining migrants dispersed inland, prompting a coordinated search and identification effort by security forces. A second boat was also sighted nearby, though its passenger count remains unknown. The incident follows a recent surge in migrant arrivals along the Gibraltar Strait, linked to heightened pressure after the Ceuta crisis.

Authorities continue to monitor the area, with the Guardia Civil assisting in removing a stranded vessel and maintaining security along the coastline.
