The migrants, identified as primarily Algerian, included 45 men, two women, and 15 minors. According to the Red Cross, all individuals were in stable health. Following their arrival, the group was detained by the Guardia Civil and subsequently handed over to the National Police for processing and potential deportation.

Cartagena Mayor Noelia Arroyo called for increased maritime surveillance and technological resources, stating that such events “cannot be normalized.” Similarly, former mayor Francisco Bernabé questioned how a vessel of that size could evade radar detection.
