Migration and integration challenges addressed in Poland
In Poland, various social and academic sectors are addressing the complexities of migration and refugee integration. The Sant’Egidio Community held an ecumenical service in Warsaw to pray for refugees, highlighting the increasing difficulty of migration issues and the need for a “disarmament of language” to prevent social backlash following recent violent incidents.
Simultaneously, researchers from the Institute of Social Prevention and Resocialization (IPSiR) at the University of Warsaw participated in the 15th Conference of the Committee for Migration Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk and Gdynia. The conference focused on migration, integration, and social and political polarization. Key academic discussions included the adaptation of children with migration experiences to the Polish education system and the evolving role of social organizations in providing both humanitarian and integrative aid following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
