Migration authorities implement new technologies in Costa Rica and Spain

Costa Rica has begun implementing automated e-gate migration controls at Juan Santamaría International Airport. The project, representing an investment of approximately US$3 million, is a coordinated effort between the Costa Rican government and airport manager AERIS. Initially, the e-gates are available to adult Costa Rican citizens holding valid biometric passports.

In Spain, the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration has expanded the Wi-Fi network at the Temporary Stay Center for Immigrants (CETI) to support the current migration crisis. The connectivity aims to facilitate administrative procedures and the operation of temporary care devices. While Orange previously provided services, the Ministry has engaged in discussions with Telefónica to ensure connectivity for new emergency response centers.
