Migration lawyer Helda Augustin sentenced to prison
Helda Augustin, a migration lawyer who has represented clients in over one hundred cases across Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö, has been sentenced to one month in prison by the Stockholm District Court. The sentence follows an incident on January 6, during which Augustin bit a taxi driver on the arm on Vasagatan and subsequently bit a police officer while in custody.
During police interrogations, Augustin claimed she had no memory of the events, attributing her behavior to her first significant intoxication after consuming three to five beers. She expressed regret, stating she never intended to cause harm.
In addition to the prison sentence, Augustin was ordered to pay 8,000 SEK in damages to the taxi driver; however, a claim for 15,000 SEK from the police officer was denied. Augustin has a prior criminal record that includes aggravated drunk driving, robbery, money laundering, and an incident where she impersonated a police officer at Arlanda Airport.
