Migros partners with Turkish Ministry to highlight eco‑labelled products

Migros and Turkey's Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change have signed a protocol to promote products bearing the Turkey Environmental Label and the EU Ecolabel. Under the agreement, these certified items will be displayed on special stands in selected Migros and Macrocenter stores and will have a dedicated section in the Migros Virtual Market, making them easier for shoppers to identify.

The initiative includes online training for Migros suppliers to help them meet the label criteria, and technical inspections have already allowed three Migros‑branded liquid soaps to carry the label. Ministry official Ömer Albayrak said the goal is to guide producers toward cleaner manufacturing, while Migros marketing executive Ekmel Nuri Baydur emphasized the aim of fostering sustainable consumer choices.
