Migros science education unit supports earthquake-affected children

Migros, in partnership with the Türkiye Eğitim Gönüllüleri Vakfı (TEGV), continues to operate its Bilim Ateşböceği Learning Unit to support children in Turkey's earthquake-affected regions. Established following the February 6 earthquakes, the initiative is now in its fourth year of operation.

To date, the program has reached over 3,000 children in the provinces of Adıyaman, Kahramanmaraş, and Hatay. The unit operates across six primary and middle schools, providing approximately 37,000 hours of science, experiment, and discovery-based educational activities. The curriculum is designed for students from 2nd to 8th grade, focusing on developing analytical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific curiosity through hands-on learning.

Migros has committed to the long-term sustainability of the project, stating that the learning unit will continue to support the educational journeys of children in these regions through the 2026-2027 academic year.
