Miguel Alonso Reyes files criminal complaint against Zacatecas official

Miguel Alonso Reyes, the former governor and current federal deputy of Zacatecas, has filed a criminal complaint against the state Secretary of Public Function, Ernesto González Romo. The complaint, presented to the Zacatecas Attorney General's Office, accuses the official of slander, abuse of authority, and incitement to violence.

Alonso Reyes claims he is the target of a “systematic political persecution” intended to damage his public image and personal safety. He argues that the secretary's public statements regarding investigations into past administrations have exceeded administrative boundaries and constitute a political lynching campaign. Furthermore, the former governor alleged that public resources and government infrastructure are being misused to fund this campaign against him.

In addition to the criminal complaint, Alonso Reyes announced intentions to escalate the matter to the National Electoral Institute and the State Human Rights Commission to defend his constitutional rights.
