Miguel Borja scores debut goal for Club América Sub-21
Colombian striker Miguel Borja scored his first goal for Club América while playing with the club’s Sub-21 team in a victory against Xolos de Tijuana. The goal was assisted by Alejandro Zendejas, who recovered the ball in midfield and drove toward the area before Borja finished the play with a right-footed shot.
Borja’s appearance with the youth squad is part of a process to regain competitive rhythm and physical fitness. He, along with Alejandro Zendejas and goalkeeper Luis Ángel Malagón, are recovering from previous injuries—including knee and Achilles tendon issues—and are expected to rejoin the first team soon under manager Guillermo Almada. Borja joined the club to provide competition for Henry Martín in the attacking line.
