Miguel Criado Arrieta, a 63‑year‑old lawyer and long‑time public servant, died on Friday 7 August in Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina. He began his career in the municipal administration decades ago, serving as a municipal judge (juez de Faltas) and later as the head of the municipality’s legal advisory office.

During his tenure he represented the city in numerous administrative and judicial proceedings, contributed to the 2018 Digesto Jurídico Municipal, and advised on matters such as public services, land, and contracts. He also acted as legal counsel for the Sociedad Rural de Comodoro Rivadavia. His death prompted condolences from local political figures, including former mayor Carlos Linares and current mayor Othar Macharashvili, and was noted as a significant loss for the community.
