Miguel Díaz-Canel visits Arroyo Arenas Defense Zone

During a visit to the Arroyo Arenas Defense Zone in the La Lisa municipality, Cuban President and President of the National Defense Council, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, addressed the nation on National Defense Day. He emphasized the continued use of wartime organizational structures to manage peacetime crises.

Díaz-Canel highlighted the need to address severe daily challenges facing the population, specifically citing food supplies, medicine, water access, electricity, solid waste collection, corruption, and crime. He noted that these structures allow the government to confront what he termed ‘maneuvers of the enemy’ while attempting to implement economic and social transformations intended to provide direct relief to the people.
