Miguel Hidalgo mayor forms coalition to fight irregular urban construction
Mauricio Tabe, the mayor of Miguel Hidalgo, has formed a coalition with legislators from the National Action Party (PAN) in the Mexico City Congress to defend urban development legality. The group aims to monitor judicial resolutions that have resulted in the removal of closure seals from irregular constructions and establishments.
Tabe reported that the municipality has filed over 30 complaints regarding the violation or removal of closure seals following rulings by the Administrative Justice Tribunal (TJA). The coalition intends to demand transparency from both the TJA and the Mexico City Attorney General's Office regarding these judicial decisions.
Legislators plan to bring the issue to the Mexico City Congress through formal agreements, requests for appearances, and working groups. They seek to investigate whether judicial sentences are protecting residents' rights or favoring private interests in cases involving alleged land-use violations in areas such as Bosques de las Lomas.
