Miguel Ángel Gallardo appeals conviction in Azagra Case

Miguel Ángel Gallardo has appealed his 18-year disqualification from public office regarding the ‘Azagra Case’ in Badajoz. The former provincial president denies that a plan was orchestrated to create a specific job position for David Sánchez, the brother of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.

In the appeal filed with the High Court of Justice of Extremadura, Gallardo’s defense argues that the evidence presented by the Provincial Court of Badajoz does not conclusively prove criminal intent. The legal team maintains that the former president did not act alone or in concert with others to manipulate the hiring process or subsequent modifications to the position.
