Miguel Pupo wins WSL Trestles Pro title after comeback victory

Miguel Pupo secured the WSL Trestles Pro title in California after a dramatic comeback victory against Japan's Kanoa Igarashi. Pupo finished with a total score of 14.77, narrowly defeating Igarashi's 14.40.

This win marks Pupo's second title of the season, following his victory at Bells Beach in Australia. The result propelled the Brazilian surfer to fourth place in the WSL rankings, surpassing Gabriel Medina. Yago Dora remains the leader of the rankings.

In the women's division, Canadian surfer Erin Brooks claimed the Trestles Pro title by defeating Gabriela Bryan. Brooks' victory marks her third consecutive win of the season, a feat not achieved by a female surfer since 2008.
