Miguel Rodarte leads ViX's crime‑comedy series “La Banda”

Miguel Rodarte stars as Rafael, the central character in ViX’s new series “La Banda,” a black‑humor drama that follows ordinary people who turn to crime when pushed to the brink. The show depicts the rise of a makeshift gang, blending absurd situations with emotional stakes as the characters grapple with decisions that could be their last.

The series also features Paulina Gaitán among its ensemble cast, alongside Tessa Ia, Aldo Escalante and others. In interviews, Rodarte described the narrative as “original, authentic and absurd,” highlighting how the characters’ noble intentions devolve into disastrous choices. “La Banda” aims to showcase Mexican and broader Latino humor, even when confronting themes of death and desperation.

Produced for the streaming platform ViX, the series is set against the backdrop of a fictional community called Valle Soleado, where a sudden death and a reckless heir threaten the future of a local sanitation business, prompting the formation of the titular “Banda.”
