Miguel Rodríguez joins Deportivo Alavés from FC Utrecht for €2.5 million

Deportivo Alavés announced the signing of 23‑year‑old Spanish winger Miguel Rodríguez on a five‑year contract that runs until 2031. The club paid approximately €2.5 million to FC Utrecht for the player, with a portion of the fee also passing to his former team Celta de Vigo.

Rodríguez arrived in Spain after two seasons in the Dutch Eredivisie, where he made 46 league appearances, scored 10 goals and provided three assists. He was noted for key contributions in Europa League matches against Real Betis and FC Porto. At Alavés he will compete for a place on the right wing, though he can also operate on the left or centrally. He began pre‑season training in Navata before returning to Vitoria, where he will be under the supervision of manager Quique Sánchez Flores. FC Utrecht praised his technical ability and lasting impression on supporters, confirming the transfer as a significant step in his career.
