Miguel Rojas retires from MLB to join Dodgers front office

Infielder Miguel Rojas has announced his retirement from Major League Baseball following the Los Angeles Dodgers' elimination from the National League Championship Series by the Milwaukee Brewers. Rojas concludes a 13-year career that included five seasons with the Dodgers.

Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman praised Rojas for his defensive contributions and his significant influence on clubhouse culture. Friedman specifically noted Rojas’s role in helping Mookie Betts transition into an above-average shortstop. Rojas is expected to remain with the organization in a front office capacity, likely focusing on player development.

Separately, Dodgers reliever Alex Vesia is entering free agency. Reports project Vesia could sign a two-year, $23 million deal, with the Dodgers, New York Yankees, and Tampa Bay Rays cited as potential suitors.
