Miguel Román to undergo surgery for knee injury

Celta de Vigo midfielder Miguel Román will undergo surgery following a knee injury sustained during training. After experiencing acute pain while kicking a ball, medical tests including an MRI revealed the presence of a free intra-articular body in his right knee.

Dr. Juan José García Cota, head of Celta's medical services, will perform an arthroscopy in the coming days. Provided there are no complications, Román is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks. This injury will cause him to miss upcoming La Liga matches against Elche, Deportivo Alavés, Real Betis, and Rayo Vallecano.

Román has been a key figure for the team this season, starting six of the first seven league matches and participating in their Europa League campaign. His absence leaves manager Claudio Giráldez with limited options in the midfield rotation.
