Miguel Ríos continues tour with “El último vals”

Veteran Spanish rock musician Miguel Ríos, 82, is continuing his “El último vals” tour, performing a repertoire that blends rock and country in an electro-acoustic format. The tour features his latest work, produced alongside José Nortes and accompanied by the band The Black Betty Boys.

As part of the tour, Ríos will return to Oviedo on October 31 at the Auditorio Príncipe Felipe. This performance marks a return to a city where he experienced a controversial incident 44 years ago during the San Mateo festivities, which resulted in his arrest after he canceled a concert due to unsafe stage conditions caused by rain.

In his recent work, Ríos explores themes ranging from personal melancholy and aging to political commentary. He noted the creative freedom afforded by being an independent artist, allowing him to focus on storytelling across different stages of his life without the commercial pressures of major record labels.
