Miguel Ríos Faces Audience Backlash Over Gaza Anti‑War Message at Marbella Concert

Spanish singer Miguel Ríos sparked a confrontation at the Starlite Festival in Marbella when he wore a Palestinian scarf and recited a poem urging an end to the Gaza conflict. A spectator accused him of “making politics” during the performance, to which Ríos replied, “If I am a political being, how can I not do politics?” and added, “Because you may not share my ideas, respect mine as I respect yours.”

Ríos emphasized that his remarks were about humanity and human rights, not partisan politics, and defended his right to express political views on stage despite the heckling.
