Miguel Torres issues errata for law signing controversy

Miguel Torres, President of the Peruvian Congress, has ordered an errata to correct the official publication of a law regarding the delegation of powers to the Executive. The law was originally published in El Peruano identifying the Senate as the signatory, rather than the Congress.

Initially, Torres defended the procedure, arguing that as President of both the Senate and Congress, his signature as Senate President complied with Article 105 of the Constitution and Senate regulations. However, following criticism from legal experts and requests from Chamber of Deputies President Óscar Reto, Torres admitted to a material error in the document's header and announced measures to rectify it.

Constitutional experts have expressed skepticism regarding the correction, suggesting that a simple errata may be insufficient to resolve the legal concerns surrounding the validity of the law's promulgation.
