Argentine musicians Miguel Zavaleta and Beto Orlando pass away
The Argentine music community is mourning the loss of two prominent figures: Miguel Zavaleta and Beto Orlando.
Miguel Zavaleta, the 71-year-old founder, singer, and keyboardist of the iconic rock band Suéter, passed away following a battle with cancer. A central figure in the 1980s Argentine rock scene, Zavaleta was known for hits such as ‘Amanece en la ruta’ and ‘Vía México’. His career spanned several decades, including work with the progressive rock group Bubu and various collaborations with major artists. His remains are scheduled to be laid to rest in the Musicians' Pantheon of SADAIC.
Beto Orlando, a renowned singer of romantic and melodic music, died at the age of 79 after suffering a stroke. Orlando, whose career flourished during the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, was a beloved figure in the genre with classic tracks like ‘Dios del olvido’ and ‘Aquellos Besos que te di’. He had been hospitalized in intensive care following a severe health decline, which led to the cancellation of recent scheduled performances.
