Mihai Busuioc transferred Bucharest property ahead of Constitutional Court appointment

Mihai Busuioc, a nominee of the PSD, transferred his only Bucharest apartment to his daughter one day before the Romanian Senate voted to appoint him as a judge of the Constitutional Court.

According to an investigation by Public Record, the 90-square-meter property in Sector 4 was donated to his daughter, Ana Sara Busuioc, on June 23, 2025. By transferring ownership, Busuioc met a specific legal requirement to qualify for state-provided protocol housing managed by RA-APPS, which is available to Constitutional Court members who do not own property in the capital.

While the daughter now holds ownership, Busuioc retained the right of usufruct, allowing him to continue living in the residence. The property was valued at just over 85,000 euros. Busuioc originally purchased the apartment in 2003 while serving as the head of the Land Registry Office near the Sector 4 Court. The Senate appointed him to a nine-year term on June 24, 2025, with his mandate officially beginning on July 13, 2025.
