Mihai Eminescu Trust marks 25 years with exhibition in Viscri, Romania
An exhibition titled “25 Years of Mihai Eminescu Trust Activity” opened on Thursday in the courtyard of the fortified church in Viscri, as part of the Haferland Week Festival. Caroline Fernolend, president of the MET Foundation, explained that a five‑person team has carried out more than 1,300 projects in 45 villages over the past 25 years, helping families send children to school and improve living standards. She offered practical advice for restoring historic houses, recommending a mix of 60 % sand, 30 % slaked lime and 10 % additives. The foundation also plans to open a school in the parish house in Buneşti and highlighted its reforestation effort that planted 3.5 million saplings. Recent work on the fortified church in Alma Vii earned three Europa Nostra awards in 2024, bringing further international recognition.
