Mihai Stoica defends FCSB players after Adrian Mutu criticism

Mihai Stoica, the Board Chairman of FCSB, has responded to criticisms made by Adrian Mutu regarding players Octavian Popescu and Aymen Boutoutaou following a 3-2 victory against FC Botoșani.

Mutu criticized Popescu, stating that while the player is a great talent, ‘his mind does not help him.’ He also expressed skepticism regarding the 1.3 million euro transfer fee for Algerian player Aymen Boutoutaou, suggesting the club did not receive value for the investment.

Stoica defended the players, describing Mutu’s remarks as ‘a bit harsh’ but acknowledging Mutu’s right to express his opinions. Stoica characterized Popescu as a ‘child’ who has not yet fully matured, rather than lacking intelligence, and emphasized the player's extreme talent. Stoica noted that his primary focus remains on the players' performance on the pitch.
