Mihail Belchev commemorated with biographical photo exhibition in Sofia
Bulgarian cultural figures gathered in Sofia's City Garden to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the birth of poet, composer, and performer Mihail Belchev. An outdoor biographical photo exhibition titled ‘Ti me povika, zhivot’ (You Called Me, Life) was opened to trace his life journey, from his early years in the ‘Bodra smiana’ choir to his career on major stages alongside prominent Bulgarian stars.
During the event, his wife, actress Kristina Belcheva, expressed her deep affection for him, noting that the exhibition was organized to honor his love for celebrations and friends. Atanas Kapralov, director of the National Literary Museum, praised Belchev for his unwavering principles and high standards, stating that his voice and words remain present in Bulgarian homes.
Deputy Minister of Culture Plamen Slavov also attended, describing Belchev as a creator who symbolizes Bulgaria. The commemorations are set to continue on October 12 with a large-scale concert titled ‘Belcheviyat rod go ima’ at Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture (NDK).
